Anne Shirley: "These are my two favourite trees."
Peg Bowen: "And why is that?"
Anne: "Becuase they are inseparable. Just like Diana and me."
Anne Shirley while walking past the Willows.[src]

The Willows were a pair of century-old trees who often spoke to Anne Shirley.

Portrayal

Trivia

  • Although they may initially be interpreted as a figment of Anne's imagination (like Katie Maurice and Dryad), in "One True Friend" after Anne went off-screen (and had not initiated an imagination sequence) they remained animated, and Peg Bowen winked in their direction. One of them winked back at her, indicating that they may be real entities.
