Trivia

  • The 2012 version of the official Road to Avonlea website described him in these words: Simon Tremayne was once the heir to the Duke of Arranagh, but was disinherited when his grandfather had his son’s marriage annulled. Simon’s father later married again, to someone of royal standard and they had a son, Andrew, who is viewed as the rightful heir to the throne. To make matters worse, on Simon's 14th birthday he was disowned by the family. Simon grew to be something of an adventurer in later years; having served with the Ottomon Secret Police as a spy against the Russians and rode in the Calvary. He settled down in Avonlea and took the position of manager of the White Sands Hotel, replacing Percy Methley. Felix King was hired as Simon's personal representative, and discovered the Duke's royal plates and returned them to Andrew. Learning this, the Duke reunited with Simon and offered his half-brother a chance to reclaim the throne, which Andrew believed was rightfully Simon’s. Simon renounced the title, and wished to continue in his current position at the White Sands hotel. The hotel was later faced with economic hardships, which resulted in an investment by Hetty King, making her co-proprietor of the Hotel. Hetty and Simon began to develop a romantic relationship, and were engaged to be married, but their plans fell apart when they realized that both would not sacrifice their respective careers for the relationship.[1]
