Peter Craig was the son of Mrs. and Mr. Craig. He worked as a hired boy with Hetty and Olivia King.

Biography

Peter started working as a hired hand for the King family when his mother couldn't financially care for him. He was well received by Sara and her cousins, although was often taunted and ridiculed by the stuck-up Felicity. His father was incarcerated for reasons unknown.

Although not religious Peter joins the King family at church one Sunday along with Peg Bowen, the town's infamous witch and a known recluse. Peg develops a special empathy for Peter and he reassures her that he is not afraid of her like the others. She tells him is just like his father and that he was a good man and not let anyone tell him otherwise

After an incident with his cousins, the King horse runs off and Hetty puts the blame on Peter. She ordered him to go pack his bags and leave the farm. Peter wad heartbroken, expressing to Sara that he feels that he failed his mother. Olivia convinces Hetty to let Peter stay and she does, but tells him that he "better do well" in the future.

When Felicity degrades Peter in front of the other children over being poor, he becomes seriously ill with the influenza. Peg Bowen however, comes to the rescue and gives him one of her special herbal remedies, which saves his life. He is also comforted by the arrival of his mother. The children, including Felicity, apologize to him for their meanness and they reconcile.

He makes a guest appearance with his mother in season 3.

Personality

Peter is warm, friendly and outgoing. He remains optimistic despite his difficult family circumstances.

His appearance in the show the differs from the books. He is portrayed as stocky and robust with light eyes and short brown hair.
