This is the timeline of events which took place or were referenced in Green Gables Fables (2014–2016).

Dating clues[]

Unlike other adaptations, Green Gables Fables took place in real time and reached its audiences via Anne's vlogs and social media accounts. While some events occurred on-camera, others were either referred to on-screen or conveyed as a part of the transmedia.

Timeline[]

1984[]

  • March: Rachel and Thomas Lynde get married.[1]

1997[]

  • March 5: Anne Shirley is born.[2]

2013[]

  • Undated: Mrs. Lynde's special blend wins Best Herbal Tea at the Avonlea Bazaar for the third time.[3]
  • December 26: Anne learns she is going to a new foster home. She posts her first Tweet.[4] Rachel Lynde joins Twitter and posts her first Tweet as well.[5] She is aware of Marilla taking in a foster child and knits a hat for them.[6]

2014[]

  • January: Gilbert goes to Toronto, Ontario to visit his cousins. He spends there more than a month.[7]
  • January 7: Anne packs her belongings.[8]
  • January 8: In the morning, Anne leaves for Green Gables. She posts her first vlog, "Call Me Cordelia".[9]
  • January 10: It snows. Anne falls in love with Avonlea.[10]
  • January 15: Anne posts her second vlog, "Less Okay".[11]
  • January 18: Anne posts her third vlog, "Living in Avonlea".[12] The Boyds are out of town and their children throw a loud party, to Mrs. Lynde's disapproval.[13]
  • January 22: Mrs. Lynde complains about Mrs. Maynard's manners.[14]
  • January 28: Mrs. Lynde makes inappropriate comments on Anne's looks.[15]
  • January 29: Angered by Mrs. Lynde's comments, Anne posts her fourth vlog, "A Detestable Woman".[16]
  • January 30: Gilbert Blythe joins Twitter. He posts his first Tweet.[17]
  • January 31: Jane Andrews and Josie Pye join Twitter. They post their first Tweets.[18] Jane starts the essay for Mr. Phillips.[19] In Toronto, Gilbert and his cousins visit the Queen's Park and Royal Ontario Museum and see the dinosaur exhibition.[20][21]
  • February 1: Ruby Gillis and Diana Barry join Twitter. They post their first Tweets.[22][23]
  • February 3: The girls have a chemistry test.[24] Ruby goes skating with Will and they have hot chocolate.[25]
  • February 4: Anne feels guilty for what she said about Mrs. Lynde.[26] In Toronto, Gilbert builds a snowman with his cousins.[27]
  • February 5: Mrs. Lynde is still offended.[28] Anne apologizes to her via her fifth vlog, "I Am Extremely Sorry".[29] Mrs. Lynde sends her an email and forgives her, giving her hope her hair would look better when she is older.[30][31] Anne exclaims she will be forever indebted to her.[32]
  • February 6: Anne feels much better after apologizing to Mrs. Lynde.[33] Ruby brings raspberry scones to school and shares them with Jane, Josie and Anne.[34]
  • February 7: The 2014 Winter Olympics start in Sochi, Russia. Gilbert watches the Opening Ceremony.[35] Ruby has a date with Nate and they watch Saving Mr. Banks.[36]
  • February 8: Mrs. Lynde is knitting while watching the Olympics and comments on the athletes' costumes.[37] Josie watches the Olympics as well.[38]
  • February 9: Anne plans to release a Q&A video and asks her viewers to send her their questions.[39] Josie comes over for lunch to Ruby's and they watch the Olympics.[40]
  • February 10: Anne is daydreaming while doing her math homework for three hours. Marilla sends her upstairs.[41] The Aid Society meeting is held. Mrs. Lynde and Mrs. Boyd both bring lemon cranberry muffins. Mrs. Wright tells Rachel hers are superior.[42] It is approximately a month since Gilbert left to Toronto.[43]
  • February 11: The Lyndes start watching Downton Abbey.[44] Josie has no one to spend the Valentine's Day with so she asks Ruby to go shopping.[45]
  • February 12: Anne posts her sixth vlog, "Making New Friends?".[46]
  • February 13: Anne makes plans with Ruby for Saturday.[47] Mrs. Lynde makes a reservation for dinner for herself and her husband to celebrate their upcoming wedding anniversary.[48]
  • February 14: Valentine's Day. Rachel and Thomas enjoy a lovely evening out.[49] Ruby goes out to dinner with John.[50] She receives two boxes of chocholate sweets and a rose.[51] Josie gets a chocolate heart from her mum.[52]
  • February 15: Ruby and Anne go shopping.[53]
  • February 18: Anne is outraged because she was falsely accused of stealing Marilla's brooch.[54]
  • February 19: Anne posts her seventh vlog, "Falsely Accused".[55]
  • February 21: Ruby, Josie, Jane and Anne go to the stag dance. Ruby and Josie get their nails done after school.[56] Anne enjoys the evening.[57] Mrs. Lynde is excited about finishing a scarf for her husband.[58] In Toronto, Gilbert's aunt takes him and is cousins out to lunch.[59]
  • February 24: Mrs. Lynde goes to the cinema to see Philomena. She enjoys the film but disapproves of the kissing youth in the front rows.[60]
  • February 26: In Toronto, Gilbert takes his cousins rock climbing.[61]
  • March 1: Ruby has a date with Tom. They go stargazing.[62]
  • March 5: Anne turns 17. She posts her first Q&A video, "Q&A #1".[63]
  • March 7: Ruby has a date with Eddie.[64]
  • March 9: Anne hears birds singing to her outside her bedroom window and she believes spring is in the air already.[65] Tom invites Ruby to go skating on the pond.[66]
  • March 10: Anne and Diana Barry plan their first meeting.[67]
  • March 11: Anne and Diana meet for the first time in Avonlea and spend more than four hours talking on camera.[68][69] Anne realizes she cannot finish editing her new vlog in time for the next day's release.[70]
  • March 13: The volleyball tournament takes place. Avonlea High School plays against Saskatoon.[71]
  • March 14: Gilbert learns about Anne being the new girl at school. Ruby admits she did not want him to bother her online.[72]
  • March 15: Marilla teaches Anne how to make shortbread, using Mrs. Lynde's recipe.[73] Josie's father travels to Montreal for a business trip.[74]
  • March 18: Josie's father returns from Montreal and brings her macarons.[75]
  • March 19: Matthew goes to Regina and as always, brings Anne her favourite chocolate candy.[76] Diana and her family have "jam night" and play music together.[77]
  • March 20: Ruby has a date with Nate.[78]
  • March 22: Anne stains her jeans with an ink when she leaves her pen in a pocket and puts the jeans in the washing machine.[79]
  • March 29: After being busy for days with school, Anne goes to the woods for a walk.[80] Diana too spends her days indoors due to studying.[81]
