- The 2012 version of the official Road to Avonlea website describes her as, Margaret Lloyd is most often referred to in Avonlea as “Old Lady Lloyd”, as she has been a recluse for many years. A tragic, failed young romance led Lloyd to confine herself alone on her family’s estate, despite offers from a very wealthy cousin (Andrew Cameron) to help financially. Now a little eccentric, Lloyd meets Sara Stanley when Felix’s tricks bring Lloyd out of her house. Sara is intrigued, and hopes to be able to help somehow. Sara mentions that a friend of Olivia’s, actually the daughter of Lloyd’s one time fiancé, has returned to Avonlea for a visit. Lloyd chooses to overcome her solitary life to ask Cameron to help the young singer. When Margaret Lloyd passed away, her family estate was left to the town, and Felicity used it as the site for the Foundling Home.[1]
