Lillian Hepworth is the sister of Jessica Pettibone, the sister-in-law of Clive Pettibone, and aunt of Arthur, Morgan and Izzy Pettibone. She is a business owner from Boston.
Biography[]
Lillian owned a hat store in Boston that faced hard financial times and was forced to close down. Before her sister died, Jessica entrusted Izzy to Lillian.
In 1911, Izzy called Lillian and invited her to visit Avonlea, and Lillian accepted, despite her father's dislike of her. During her visit, she infuriated Clive when she said that Jessica lived a life of "turmoil and drudgery" during their marriage. Izzy made plans to move to Boston together with Lillian but Felix King tried to warn Izzy when he discovered Lillian's financial problems. Lillian ended up confessing her business failure and left Avonlea without Izzy.[1]

Sadly, Lillian is irresponsible - especially with money - according to Clive, which was why he disliked her. After meeting Muriel, she told Clive that twice he married women who were much too good for him.

- The 2012 version of the official Road to Avonlea website described her as, Lillian Hepworth visits the Pettibone family from Boston, where she has led a glamorous and independent life as a businesswoman. Lillian was sister to the late Jessica Pettibone, and aunt to Izzy Pettibone, Arthur Pettibone and Morgan Pettibone. Lillian arrives in Avonlea with tales from her high-fashion, cultured life, and makes it clear to all that she views her late sister’s life as a wife and mother was a miserable one. Izzy, though initially intrigued by her aunt’s lifestyle and hoping for more sophistication than Avonlea, decides moving to live with Lillian in Boston is not the best path.[2]
