"In Her Selfless Mood" is a short story by Lucy Maud Montgomery published in Further Chronicles of Avonlea in 1920.

DescriptionEdit

On the deathbed of her mother, Eunice Carr promises to protect and care for her unworldly younger brother, Christopher, "no matter what comes". Eunice faithfully keeps her promise to the end, even though she sacrifices her own happiness and well-being along the way.
