Trivia

  • The official Anne of Green Gables website describes Gilbert as, Gilbert is smart and self-confident. He is used to being the centre of attention and can usually charm those around him. He often teases Anne in the beginning – unaware of Anne's sensitivity about her red hair. Gilbert is a hard worker and is competitive at school. Despite his pride, he is chivalrous and brave and makes himself available for Anne when she needs him. He and Anne are usually at the top of the class, and their competition drives them both to excel. It takes a long time for Anne to appreciate Gilbert, but he never stops trying to get her attention. Gradually, she starts to warm towards him and they become closer.[1]
