Amy Paige Wallis was born on September 16, 1982, in British Columbia, Canada.
Wallis portrayed Anne Shirley in Anne of Green Gables: The Musical at Charlottetown Festival. She starred there for four seasons (2006-2009), along with Janet MacEwen and Sandy Winsby as Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert respectively.
Amy played “Belle” in Arts Club Theatre’s Beauty and the Beast, for which she earned a Jessie Award nomination. Her debut at the Stratford Festival Theatre in 2012 in two leading roles (Mabel in Pirates of Penzance and Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown) was met with rave reviews. In Western Canada Theatre’s critically acclaimed 2013 production of Les Miserables, she played Eponine, one of her dream roles, opposite her sister Robyn as Cosette. Wallis also appeared in The British Invasion: A Musical Revue and America Strikes Back!: British Invasion II.
She was recognized coast to coast as an immense talent in theatre, opera and animation.
Amy was diagnosed with leukemia in Feburary 2014. After extensive treatment at Toronto’s Princess Margaret Hospital and elsewhere, she was excited to reprise the role of Eponine at the Arts Club Theatre, set to open July 2, 2015. She died on June 14, 2015 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, surrounded by family and friends.
