Amy was the young wife of Joe.

Biography

She was delivered by Miss Haggerty, a midwife. When Amy and Joe visited Miss Haggerty on Joe's twenty-third birthday, Amy was pregnant. The two of them wanted Miss Haggerty to deliver their child. Miss Haggerty was initially reluctant, having just retired from midwifery, but Anne Shirley persuaded her to take on one more job.
