The 1890s was the decade between January 1, 1890 and December 31, 1899. It is known also as the Gay Nineties and the Mauve Decade.
Involvement in Anne series[]
- Anne Shirley ended her teacher career at Summerside High School, got married with Gilbert Blythe and settled down at House of Dreams in Four Winds, Prince Edward Island. She gave birth to her first daughter Joyce and immediately lost her. After some time she gave birth to Jem and moved to Ingleside in Glen St. Mary. There she gave birth to Walter, Nan and Di, Shirley and Rilla.
- Gilbert Blythe finished his studies at medical school in Kingsport, Nova Scotia, got married with Anne Shirley, settled down in Four Winds and became the new doctor of Glen area. He survived the death of his first daughter. Gilbert, Anne and their son Jem moved to Ingleside and his other children were born there.
- Diana Barry gave birth to her youngest son Jack and moved to Lone Willow Farm.
- Leslie West fell in love with Owen Ford and found that her husband Dick was dead for thirteen years. She got married with Owen and gave birth to Kenneth and Persis.
- Owen Ford came to Four Winds and fell in love with Leslie Moore. He wrote Captain Jim's Lifebook, got married with Leslie and their two children were born.
- Captain Jim Boyd befriended Anne and Gilbert, met Owen Ford and gave him an inspiration to write a book. When the book was published, he read it and died.
- Cornelia Bryant befriended Anne and Gilbert and got married with Marshall Elliott.
